Earth Element Crystals
Earth is the phase of ground and steadiness: the late summer plateau after the peak and before the turn, the part of the year that simply holds. Its colour is yellow and brown. Too little Earth is feeling ungrounded, worry with no object and difficulty saying no. Too much is an attachment to routine so complete that nothing new can enter it.
When you might need it
- You are holding three other people's weeks together and none of your own.
- You said yes to something you knew was a no while you were saying it.
- The month has been expensive in ways you cannot account for.
- You have moved, or changed jobs, and nothing feels like yours yet.
The stones in this phase
Citrine is the stone most often filed under Earth, kept by the older practice for steadiness rather than luck. Natural citrine is a pale, smoky yellow; deep orange sold cheaply is usually heat treated amethyst.
Golden aura citrine is the coated form, quartz bonded with a fine gold layer, a surface treatment rather than a different mineral. It reads warmer and more reflective, and carries the same Earth colour.
The seven chakra bracelet includes Earth in its yellow centre.
How to choose
Pick by depth of yellow and prefer the paler, smokier stones, because uniform neon orange is a heat treatment rather than a discovery. Bead size is about proportion and never about fit: 8 mm for stacking, 10 mm for daily wear, 12 mm when you want to feel the weight of the strand. The measurement that decides fit is in our size guide, and if you keep the traditional hand rule, Earth belongs on the left.
Earth sits in a fixed sequence, fed by Fire and feeding Metal, which our Five Elements guide explains. The short quiz helps if you cannot tell whether you are short of Earth or simply tired.
And the honest note: the Five Elements is a traditional framework for describing experience, not a medical system, and no stone here diagnoses, treats or cures any condition.
