Bracelet Size Guide

Almost every sizing question comes down to one thing: the finished length of the bracelet, not the bead size. This page shows you how to measure once, and then how to choose.

Step 1 — Measure your wrist

  1. Wrap a soft measuring tape, a strip of paper or a piece of string around your wrist bone.
  2. Keep it snug but not tight — it should sit the way a watch strap sits.
  3. Mark where the end meets, then measure that length flat against a ruler. That number is your wrist measurement.

If you are between two numbers, round up.

Step 2 — Choose your bracelet length

A beaded bracelet should be slightly longer than your wrist so it can move. Add roughly 1–1.5 cm (0.4–0.6 in) to your wrist measurement.

Bracelet length Best for wrist measurement How it wears
14 cm (5.5 in) 13–14 cm (5.1–5.5 in) Snug — sits close to the wrist
16 cm (6.3 in) 14–16 cm (5.5–6.3 in) Regular — the most common choice
18 cm (7.1 in) 16–18 cm (6.3–7.1 in) Relaxed — hangs slightly, easy to move

Not sure? 16 cm is the safest default for most adult women, and 18 cm for most adult men.

Step 3 — Understand bead size

Bead diameter changes the look and the weight, not the fit — the bracelet length is what decides whether it fits. Most of our bracelets are offered in three bead sizes:

Bead size Look Best for
8 mm (0.31 in) Fine and light — the most delicate of the three Stacking several bracelets; smaller wrists
10 mm (0.39 in) The middle option — balanced presence Everyday wear, one bracelet on its own
12 mm (0.47 in) Full and substantial; shows the stone's colour and pattern best Wearing a single statement bracelet

Step 4 — Choosing your wrist length

Some of our bracelets let you choose the finished length directly. Where that option exists you will see a Wrist dropdown with 14 cm to 21 cm.

Your wrist measures Choose this length
13–14 cm (5.1–5.5 in) 14–15 cm
14–16 cm (5.5–6.3 in) 16 cm — the most common choice
16–18 cm (6.3–7.1 in) 18 cm
18–20 cm (7.1–7.9 in) 20 cm

If a product page does not offer a wrist length option, that bracelet is made to a single standard length. If you need a specific length, message us before ordering with your wrist measurement and we will confirm what we can do — we would much rather adjust it before shipping than have it come back.

You can always tell us your wrist measurement in the order notes at checkout. We read every one.

How a beaded bracelet should fit

  • Correct: you can slide one finger between the bracelet and your wrist, and the bracelet moves a little.
  • Too tight: it leaves a mark, or you have to roll it over your hand to get it on.
  • Too loose: it slides past your wrist bone onto your forearm, and the elastic is under constant strain.

How to put it on without stretching the cord

  1. Roll the bracelet over your hand sideways — do not pull it over your knuckles by force.
  2. Once past the widest part of your hand, let it settle onto your wrist.
  3. To remove it, roll it back over your hand the same way rather than pulling it off.

Rolling instead of pulling can add months to the life of the elastic. More in the care guide.

Stacking

If you plan to wear several bracelets together, use the same bead size so they sit level, and add about 0.5 cm to your chosen length so the stack is not tight.
